Preventive and Therapeutic Potential of Physical Exercise in Neurodegenerative Diseases

چکیده

Significance: The prevalence and incidence of age-related neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs) tend to increase along with the enhanced average world life expectancy. NDDs are a major cause morbidity disability, affecting health care, social economic systems significant impact. Critical Issues Recent Advances: Despite worldwide burden ongoing research efforts underlying molecular mechanisms involved in NDD pathophysiologies, pharmacological therapies have been presenting merely narrow benefits. On contrary, absent detrimental side effects but growing merits, regular physical exercise (PE) has considered prone pleiotropic nonpharmacological alternative able modulate brain structure function, thereby stimulating healthier “fitness” neurological phenotype. Future Directions: This review summarizes state art some peripheral central-related that underlie impact PE on plasticity as well its relevance for prevention and/or treatment NDDs. Nevertheless, further studies needed better clarify signaling pathways associated muscle contractions-related myokines release plausible positive brain. In addition, particular focus should address role modulation mitochondrial metabolism oxidative stress context

Revisiting Metal Toxicity in Neurodegenerative Diseases and Stroke: Therapeutic Potential

Excessive accumulation of pro-oxidant metals, observed in affected brain regions, has consistently been implicated as a contributor to the brain pathology including neurodegenerative diseases and acute injuries such as stroke. Furthermore, the potential interactions between metal toxicity and other commonly associated etiological factors, such as misfolding/aggregation of amyloidogenic proteins...

PPARα as Potential Therapeutic Target for Neurodegenerative Diseases

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are members of the nuclear receptors super family and are ligand-activated transcription factors. They are involved in the regulation of metabolic pathologies such as cardiovascular disease, obesity, lipid disorder, hypertension and diabetes [1]. PPARs exist as three subtypes commonly designated as PPARα, PPARΥ, and PPARβ/δ. All PPAR isoforms,...

P184: Combination of Herbal Medicine and Nanomedicine: a Novel Therapeutic Target for Neurodegenerative Diseases

Inflammation is a pathologic condition that includes a wide range of diseases namely neurodegenerative diseases. Several natural anti-inflammatory components have been identified in plant extracts used in traditional medicine for the relief of inflammation. Herbal medicine is showing difficulty in crossing the blood-brain barrier (BBB). So that the ability to pass the BBB is the main concern fo...

Therapeutic implication of autophagy in neurodegenerative diseases

Autophagy, a catabolic process necessary for the maintenance of intracellular homeostasis, has recently been the focus of numerous human diseases and conditions, such as aging, cancer, development, immunity, longevity, and neurodegeneration. However, the continued presence of autophagy is essential for cell survival and dysfunctional autophagy is thought to speed up the progression of neurodege...
